in the 'for what it's worth' category, talked to someone last week that hinted toyota may still be involved thru '26.
pretty sure they will back away from nhra at a certain point. no way to verify what i was told, but that sounded better than done after '25.
also curious to see what body alexis will be running @ jcm. does she still have a toyota connection? or does that remain with del? who
was in toyota trim last weekend ...... actually i would like to see alexis in TF ....... JMHO.

Toyota ONLY has Funny Cars, Nothing else in NHRA. They put a lot of money into Drag Racing but No Pro Stock , No Pro Mod, really no other classes. Should be glad they were around this long
It’s not just the “body’s” that Toyota brings. They have a whole crew of engineers that help come up with tune ups. “TRD” employees are all over the place helping teams.
 
I just saw a Toyota commercial where they're showing all kinds of motorsports that Toyota is involved in, including drag racing.
 
there was a commercial during daytona 500 yesterday for toyota gazoo racing, that did not feature drag racing.

Ron was in Atlantic City on 2/1 for a NAPA sponsorsered TQ indoor weekend as he has been the last several years. Had the opportunity to speak with him for quite a while, I was working the event doing some photography work. It was a cool thing to sit at a small table with him in the small hospitality area after he was done greeting and signing during their fanfest. I asked him about Toyota leaving and his response was he too wasn't convinced Toyota was going to completely bail out (at least not from his team). Toyota has committed to ensuring at the end of this season he will have 3 new bodies to go forward with. They also told him to keep all the tow vehicles and courtesy vehicles etc.

He went onto say when I asked can you really feel the difference in the bodies from the different manufactures, I was surprised by his answer which was "nope not at all". He did say the only benefit of the Toyota body was the peripheral visibility which was much better than all the others, said he was shocked the first time he sat in one. Called it huge for him personally. He said if nothing else they've committed to leaving him with a handful of 100k Sequoias and 3 80+k bodies but he also reiterated he thinks there's a decent chance they don't pull out completely (that's what she said).

Someone asked another question something like what about everything else about the cars specifically the engines. He said doesn't make a difference whatsoever, all the blocks are based off old hemis anyway and everybody has access to the same "bolt on" parts which are predominantly made JFR and Schumacher. Those were the two names he threw out.

Thought it was interesting stuff and at least for him if they were leaving they were leaving him some "gifts"

I would imagine Antron maybe in the same boat at least with the vehicles and some extra Toyota stickers at a minimum.
