Passed Away today. Pro Stock pioneer, innovator, Championship engine builder, and founder of DART Machinery.

Way back when, DART heads were the standard in Nitro racing even though his passion was always Pro Stock.

Wow. Met him once at the SEMA show in the '90s, such a force in the industry. RIP Mr. Maskin.

A true legend and pioneer. God speed. Condolences to the family and friends.

Sorry to hear this. Actually worked with him a bit (via phone, email, etc.) in the mid 1990s on a custom head gasket project that never came to fruition. The company I worked for was already involved in a head gasket program for Canadian aircraft engine manufacturer Orenda for a conversion engine that was based on a big block Chevy, so we knew how to build head gaskets. These used a graphite material known as Grafoil and Dick wanted to try this in a racing engine. This is the same material used in some header gaskets - all based in work we did with Earl's back in the '90s.

But enough story telling...condolences to the family.
