Rickie Smith and his Skull Gear Nitrous Injected Pro Mod Corvette went to Farmington Dragway this past Saturday night to race in the Quick 8 Pro Mod Series. Not running in the category since July 4th of this year, Smith was looking to show his skill yet again.
With only 14 runs on his Skull Gear Pro Mod car before rolling into Farmington Saturday night, Smith showed why he is still one of the best at not only tuning but driving a racecar.
After three qualifying runs, Smith would qualify in the No. 1 position with a 4.075 elapse time on the 1/8 mile track. From then on out, Smith continued his domination throughout the night.
First round Smith had to face Randy Weatherford. Cutting a great light and putting down a 4.039 elapse time, Smith blew away the competition and advanced to the next round.
There he would face off against Rod Houck. Running an incredible time of 4.029, Smith would make his way into the finals.
Having to run Kenny Rucker, Smith knew he would have to put down another great time. Running a 4.034 elapse time, Smith would take the win as he blistered the competition the entire night.
Smith will soon have video footage up from the race on his website at Page 1, so check it out!
