Richmond Forecast Looks Good Right Now For Next Weekend! (1 Viewer)

Be sure to bring "layers" because it's gonna be chilly Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights, only low-to-mid-sixties during the day. But it should be dry.

At this time last week last weekends forecast looked great also. Putting any stock in a long range forecast in this area is equivalent to betting on a horse with three or less legs.

For what it's worth (not much at this early date) here is the US Weather Service forecast for this weekend for the Petersburg/ Dinwiddie area.

Thursday and Thursday Night
Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Highs in the mid 70s. Lows in the mid 40s. Chance of rain 50 percent.

Friday
Partly sunny in the morning...then becoming mostly sunny. Cooler with highs in the lower 60s.

Friday Night and Saturday
Mostly clear. Lows in the mid 30s. Highs in the mid 60s.

Saturday Night
Mostly clear. Lows around 40.

Sunday and Sunday Night
Partly cloudy. Highs in the mid 60s. Lows in the mid 40s.

If this is true and the absolute barometric pressure is above 30.2 or so there should be a few records broken.

Well, the forecast for tonight and tomorrow has changed...FOR THE BETTER!!

With a disappointed tone in his voice, the Richmond NBC affiliate's weather man just reported that the approaching cold front and the current air in the area were so dry that the chance of rain showers as it passes through tonight was rapidly disappearing and the next chance of rain was some time next week. It will be cloudy, but dry and brisk tomorrow morning, then mostly sunny the rest of the weekend.

So bundle up and get on down here, conditions will be ripe for another record-setting race.

   :p

See ya in the morning.... getting conflecting reports on 460 from Norfolk/Suffolk to Petersburg... ya'll at the track hearing anything different

There's a sign on I-85 heading into Petersburg from the track that says 460 is closed - no details. Might want to give the State Police a call, the sign might be a leftover. If not, they should be able to tell you what the alternative is.

Same thing on I-295
