We were racing Houston about 15 years ago and were cooling down a friend's stocker. I think it was the 5th or 4th round and were getting hot lapped. David was pitted about 100 yards from the cool down area and kept looking at us. He soon walked over and told us that stock had been called back to the lanes and we should hurry up. We took off and got there just in time to put a dial on the window and hit the burn out box. Later after his round he saw me walking and asked how it went. I told him we lost but if it wasn't for him, we would have been d.q. and thanked him.
In Belle Rose, when I first started building my car(same class as his Super Stock Camaro but different motor combination) he saw me looking at his everytime I passed by it. Later he stopped me and asked if I liked it since I was always staring at it. I told him I was building one and was trying to steal some ideas. He laughed, opened the doors and hood and asked if I had a camera then told me to take all the pictures I wanted. That's why he is one of my favorite drag racer ever.
