The QUARTER-MAX® Racing team will be competing in NHRA Pro Stock in 2008 with Rickie Jones behind the wheel. The QUARTER-MAX® sponsored RJ Race Cars built 2008 Dodge Stratus will utilize a Larry Morgan 500-inch Mopar HEMI power plant.
Team owner Rick Jones comments, “This is something I have always wanted to do for a long time. We have a good customer base in NHRA and it will be exciting to be racing with them. My son has stood behind my car for many years, and I’m proud to be standing behind him now.”
The 20 year-old son, and driver, Rickie Jones adds, “I grew up on pro stock racing, and working in the shop, and it has been my whole life. I’m so thankful for my parents Rick and Bonnie Jones for trusting me with this opportunity. I can’t wait to go testing and let the clutch out, and get some more seat time. When we get to our first race my goal will be the same one that this team has always had at any race, and that is to first just qualify, second, focus on one round at a time, and do the best we can do, and go from there. I also have to say a big thank you to all of our customers, and the employees of RJ Race Cars and QUARTER-MAX® Chassis & Racing Components, and also the many companies and vendors involved with our team.“
RJ Race Cars, Inc. and QUARTER-MAX® Chassis & Racing Components are pleased to announce that they have signed on as a major contingency sponsor with NHRA for 2008.
“It just makes good sense for us to be involved with NHRA. Being a sponsor and racing in NHRA Pro Stock will give us a lot of exposure and increase our companies’ presence there. “added Rick Jones.
The team is planning to race at 14 selected POWERade national events.
