Quality Plus Racing Readies for St. Louis

The Quality Plus Racing team, owned by Rob Sporring, is ready to do battle in the heartland of the USA this weekend.

The McAmis built 57 Chevy, driven by Tony Pontieri and tuned by Al Billes, has put a frustrating Atlanta event behind them. All eyes are on the winner’s purse at the NHRA O’Reilly Midwest Nationals in St. Louis.

The team, which fought a horsepower killing electrical gremlin, finally pinpointed the problem after a rigorous day of testing on Monday following the Atlanta event. Pontieri stated, “We all know that electrical problems are some of the worst. We changed every electrical component and piece of wire on the car and finally eliminated the “miss” we were experiencing. I’m just glad we can look onto a new event with a clean slate. Hopefully we can put this car into the five second zone real soon”.

Owner Rob Sporring is glad to be devoted to the AMS/ Tindale NHRA Pro Mod series. He feels that the exposure at the track is second to none in the drag racing industry. The team plans to run the entire AMS Schedule as well as some local races throughout the 2007 season.

The Quality Plus Compressors Pro Mod team would like to thank the following companies and individuals that help make this effort a reality: Quality Plus Compressors, Pontieri Automotive, Al Billes Racing, Too Precise Machine, L J Chassis, Ultimate Performance, Speed O Rama Shows, Gary's Transmissions, Cucci Hair Salon, Auto Meter, Fast Eddie Race Wear, Weld Wheel Inc, Bear's Performance, D.M.P.E Inc., The Trailer Shop, and Joe Van Overbeek Race Car Bodies.
