BROWNSBURG, Ind. (Aug. 19, 2008) - Effective immediately, Pro Stock Motorcycle rider Craig Treble will ride for Don Schumacher Racing through the balance of the 2008 NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series atop the Albrecht's Fast Track Suzuki as teammate to Schumacher Electric Suzuki rider Chip Ellis.

Treble, who left the Team Tigue Suzuki operation following Sunday's 24th Annual NHRA Nationals in Reading, Pa., after scoring two runner-up finishes this season, will compete for a spot in the top 10 for the Countdown to 1 championship playoffs at the U.S. Nationals in Indianapolis on Labor Day weekend under the DSR banner. Entering the U.S. Nationals, he is eighth in the PSM standings and the defending PSM event champion.

Racing a Pro Stock Motorcycle since 1998, Treble has tallied 11 national-event wins in 25 final rounds, with his highest points finish a runner-up in 2002. The 42-year-old Indiana native living in New Orleans has also enjoyed a longtime association with Matco Tools, a major associate sponsor on all seven DSR teams.

Albrecht's Fast Track, of Des Plaines, Ill., is a motorcycle shop that has been in business for 23 years customizing and servicing street sport bikes. "It's exciting to be involved in something that relates to our industry," said owner Dave Albrecht, "and it's a great opportunity for us to be associated with a high-quality team like Don Schumacher Racing. We're looking forward to great results with the Pro Stock Motorcycle team and Craig Treble."

Treble will work alongside Ellis and crew chief Steve Tartaglia to help develop the new Suzuki Hyabusa engine in-house at DSR. "Now that we have the two riders secured at DSR, Craig will begin testing our new Hayabusa engine as soon as we have it available, which should be shortly after Indy," said Schumacher. "And, with Ellis, Tartaglia and Treble putting their focus on this program, we'll work towards accomplishing some wonderful things with the new Hayabusa Suzuki engine."

Said Treble, "I was prepared to leave Team Tigue at the end of the race on Sunday without a plan for Indy. I talked to Steve Tartaglia about possibly leasing an engine and the next thing I know Don Schumacher calls me and asks me if I was interested in riding the other DSR bike. We had talked about the four-valve program before and all the stars lined up and here we are.

"I've been with Harry and Joanne Lartigue for four years and it's been a great run with them. We won a few races together, including the U.S. Nationals last year," added Treble. "I've also had a long association with Vance and Hines since day one in the PSM class, and I want to thank them for all the years of providing great engines."
