PMRA returns for Victoria Day Weekend and KC Auto Family Day Thunder Fest

CAYUGA, ONTARIO (February 2, 2007) - To start off its third year of competition, the Pro Modified Racing Association will be returning to Toronto Motorsports Park outside of Cayuga, Ontario for the track's Victoria Day Weekend May 19 and 20, and the popular KC Auto Family Day Thunder Fest sponsored by KC Auto Parts on Saturday, June 16.

The first PMRA race was held at TMP in 2005, and Carl Spiering of Jordan Station, ON, bested Al Billes of Barrie, ON in a stellar field of Pro Modifieds.

"We are very happy to return to TMP for the KC Auto Family Day Thunder Fest and to kick-off the PMRA season at TMP on the Victoria Day Weekend," explained PMRA Director of Operations Bruce F. Mehlenbacher. "We had our very first event at this facility, and it was a great success, "he added. " Our teams have always enjoyed running down the Kohler strip."

"TMP and myself are happy to host the PMRA twice in 2007," said TMP's Race Director Neale Armstrong. "We are looking forward to their return. These guys always put on a great show for the fans."

About the Pro Modified Racing Association (PMRA):
The Pro Modified Racing Association, Pro Modified Racing Association, started late in 2004 and is entering its third year of operation. The PMRA is a self-governing organization, with technical and safety rules as outlined by the International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) and the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA). Cars in the PMRA capture the true spirit of hot rodding, and the class is one of drag racing's most exciting and volatile classes, offering a diverse group of racecars with different types of 2,000-horsepower engines. Combining classic body styles and modern equipment, constructors are permitted, within established rules and parameters, to modify and enhance the cars in both appearance and performance. The cars are fuelled by gasoline or methanol, propelling them down the quarter-mile in low six-second times at over 200 miles per hour. The PMRA provides drag race fans the opportunity to see, hear, and experience the popular Pro Modifieds, known as "the world's fastest door slammers".
