Patience pays off big for Performance by Fisher Racing

January 26, 2008 - Lima, Ohio – Sometimes as a human being, having patience can really take some work. Add drag racer to the mix and well we just want everything fast and now.

What was supposed to be a new addition for the Performance by Fisher Racing team in 2007, didn’t happen as planned. Team driver Kevin Fisher was to begin competing in his new Cannister Motorsports Top Dragster at the beginning of last season. The two main things that plague most racers while attempting to complete their projects were the same in this situation, time and money.

Some things just happen for a reason. Although the move to Top Dragster for Kevin was put off for another year, Performance by Fisher Racing had their best season yet in Quick Rod. They managed to wrap up their 3rd year of Pro-Am competition with several final round appearances including a national event win and a #8 finish for Kathy. Because of this Kathy also landed a spot to compete in the very first Summit Racing Equipment All-Stars Shootout to take place during the IHRA Spring Nationals at Rockingham Dragway April 18-20.

Capitalizing on the steam they built up last season, Performance by Fisher Racing will now be able to finalize the move for Kevin into Top Dragster. Thanks to the tremendous influx of new marketing partners, the 2008 Cannister Motorsports dragster is just a couple of months away from completion.

“I am thrilled to be able to work with not only those companies who have been with us from the start, but the 13 new sponsors who have just joined us in the last couple of months”, Kathy said. “These folks are not only coming on board for Kevin’s new Top Dragster, but for the entire team. It’s an awesome way to start the new season.”

Some of the greatest names in aftermarket and high-performance parts have aligned with Performance by Fisher Racing starting in 2008.

Working with the leader in engine building, the team’s new Top Dragster will have all the power it needs to punch its way into the new smaller 32 car fields at IHRA National Events. This comes with huge thanks to Ohio Crankshaft, (Welcome to Ohio Crankshaft) with their outstanding amount of experience lending a hand and an all aluminum 615 BBC to the team.

“One word to describe Stan Ray and the crew at Ohio Crankshaft is experience and lots of it,” explained Kevin. “Stepping into the fastest sportsman class in IHRA is nothing to take lightly. That’s why we couldn’t be happier to work with the great group at Ohio Crankshaft for the Top Dragster and a little extra expertise for Kathy’s new 548 BBC she’ll run this year in Quick Rod.”

And that’s only the beginning. Performance by Fisher Racing looks forward to the new support of other fine companies such as Coan Engineering, Moser Engineering, Biondo Racing Products, Hoosier Tire Company, K&N Engineering, CSR Performance Products, Milodon, Borla Exhaust, Borla Headers, Jet-Hot Coatings, Weld Racing and holding it all together with the world’s finest fasteners thanks to ARP.

Performance by Fisher Racing realizes their successes over the last 3 seasons would not have been possible without those who have been along for the journey since day one. They are proud to announce Auto Meter, Cannister Motorsports Welding & Fabricating, American Racing Wheels, Performance by Fisher, Inc, Lima, Ohio Snap-On Dealer Tom “The Tool Man” Hirt, Frank Hawley’s Drag Racing School and Amalie Oil Company will all rejoin the team’s efforts in 2008.

“We also need to point out that we couldn’t have done it all without the support of Torco Racing Fuels.” Kathy noted. “Torco came on board with us during the 2007 season and helped us achieve some of the goals that we had been dreaming of. Because of that, we will not only continue to display our Torco logos and power our team with Torco but we have also added them to our new fantastically designed Advertising Edge, Inc sublimated crew wear that our team will debut at Rockingham.”

So does being patient pay off? You bet it does and it’s full steam ahead for Performance by Fisher Racing in 2008!
