Pac Performance A Part Of The Hi-tech Heaven This Boxing Day In Sydney! (1 Viewer)

[coverattach=1]The Pac Performance Mazda 6 is simply – stunning. See it this Boxing Day Friday at Western Sydney Dragway!

This Boxing Day Friday and Saturday at Western Sydney is not just about bone-jarring Nitro – you simply cannot miss some of the best high-technology cars in Super Compact as well.

With almost 20 entries, all from New South Wales based racers, Super Compact represents some of the highest automotive development seen in any form of Autosport – anywhere, anytime.

Super compact Drag Racing is a great success story already in the ANDRA championship Drag Racing mix and there can be no argument that New South Wales racers are leading the onslaught!

Leading the charge this weekend has to be the all new Castrol EDGE sponsored, Mazda 6 machine, piloted by Pac Performance supremo – Rocky Rehayem.

The latest Pac creation is an ex-Allen Johnson Pro Stock chassis and rest assured, it has the best of everything with a typically impressive and instantaneous bolt of power, courtesy of the turbo 20b, billet aluminium triple rotary engine.

With Rehayem testing the car last Friday night in Sydney, the word out there is this car has to SEEN and HEARD to be believed!

“We are real happy with how the car fared during some shakedown runs last Friday night,” Rehayem recounted. “It felt real sharp out there. After the fantastic reception we got with unveiling the car recently at AutoSalon and people being amazed at how swoopy it looks, its been a great start.”

When asked on the process of creating this Mazda 6 concoction, Rehayem said it went largely to plan.

“The engine just fell into the car. The engine development has been a process of 6 to 8 months of solid and specific development to produce what we have with it.”

Pac Performance already set new Rotary performance benchmarks in the world, with the former MX6 entry regularly scorching into the high 6-second zone for it’s quarter mile efforts, but Rehayem thinks this new Mazda 6 beast is a quantum step up.

“Already, this new car feels like steel, compared to the old car which is almost plastic-like in comparison. It really is strong. When you throw all the other development into this car as well, you can see what a big step forward this new car is. We have a better intake/exhaust combination which is a big part as to why the new car sounds so fantastic, we have a new style 2-step which sees us really launching aggressively.”

Aggressive launches is understatement, as this YouTube video clearly shows - BY CLICKING HERE (Pac launch approx. 1:30 into the video clip).

“Yeah, she launches hard already,” Rocky grinned, “Our data tells us we produced more than 3g’s of force on that wheelstand.”

So with one session only in the books before this Friday & Saturday at Western Sydney Dragway, Rocky Rehayem is both excited and realistic about his goals in equal measure.

“I would love to say we will go out there and run a 6.5 or 6.6 second ET, however it’s a step by step process in reality. It’s a new car obviously and a raw combination so my realistic goal is to achieve a full pass in the car before the end of the event this weekend. We know what the chassis is capable of in terms of incremental data and it seems to match up very well already at this early stage.”

Rocky Rehayem is pumped about the weekend and also excited about ANDRA Super Compact being a key part of the ANDRA Championship Drag Racing mix.

“It’s interesting to see many of the other conventional ANDRA Drag Racing classes struggle for entries this weekend in Sydney, yet the Super Compact guys are just itching to get out there. We love Sport Compact racing but we have been so keen to be incorporated into the main ANDRA Championship Drag Racing mix in our own right, standing on our own two feet for the longest time.”

“With all the awesome professional cars coming into it as well joining the likes of Glassett, Signorelli, Wedlock and ourselves, it’s a category to keep a close eye on for sure!”

We can’t help but agree Rocky!
