What's that about? It's a bad omen, if that's all that show. Imagine if one of the multi car teams didn't appear!
Diesel fuel costs, Nitro costs, inflation and tight $'s are all rearing their ugly heads.

Why run on Friday if your time is gonna be thrown out anyway? Rd 1 is a throw away pass... rd 2 is hitter bragging rights... your best shot is early in round 3... and those without a time run early... it would be a bioch to be the thirteenth car outta thirteen...
why i don't really pay attention to PS or TF qualifying until Saturday... flopper on the other hand, all 17 to 20 cars on hand can run in the top twelve...
Because it's not about being quick enough on Friday, it's about putting bottoms in the seats on Saturday.
From a fans point of view, it's about the excitement of the Show
yeah, right... try one lane tracks and hot summer weather... I think of this as the Pro Stock rule... Afterall, it isn't Fair that you're not one of the 16 quickest cars, even if you got the same 4 shots at the track as everyone else.
It's about selling seats to people who channel surf on TV, change the radio station during commercials, doesn't that make sense? Cater to a transit viewing audience. You know, people that like egomaniacs screaming at them at the track, treat them like they are the idiots, and shoot t-shirts into the stands...
