first time experience - best show ever!!!- 35,000 fans in a weak economy. lots of old school showmanship -they even had the 8 fuel coupes do the slow parade down the track for driver intro!! .NHRA needs to put some sizzle on the show like the bader family

it was good.
was worth the 40 bucks to see john force jump and cover when the woman blew herself up. I have that on video. You know its a bad explosion when John Force runs

What distance were they running?

One of the videos of a Force/Pedregon run looks like John has the candles lit all the way to the scoreboards..

they were running 1000ft. BUT the drivers were into it for the whole 1320
from were i was standing

Yes, they "raced" to the 1000' and I noticed the same thing,...they did seem to run the 1320. I think Force and Pedregon were trying to kill each other.

It was a very spectacular event. The only bummer was Bob Motz running out of fuel before he could do his run. BUT,...he did a masterful job of burning down the sign. :D

I'm not suprised people have rave reviews about this event. My favorite event of all time was an IHRA race they had at Norwalk back in 97. It was the IHRA world nationals, and they had what they called the night of fire. It was like others mentioned, it has a show component to it, not pure race. They had wheelie exhibition cars, a few exhibition jet cars, and the Bob Motz jet rig.

Your right, NHRA needs to add an entertainment component to the racing, especially if they're not getting full fields in the future.

I was bummed that I had to miss it this year. Shows like this show what racing could be. The Baders are awesome

i know this show is great annually................
but the woman in box gig ??????? come on, really? :o

on the other hand, maybe you could argue it's the same as a FC,
less the motor and wheels?

Anybody got the F/C ladder?

I know it was a "Chicago Style" race but I would be interested in seeing the times and who beat who
