Pretty amazing performance. Congrats to Shoe for the double (and almost double-double), and to Sarge for the double and incredible tenth Indy win.

Those nitro finals at Indy were probably the most exciting (and brutal) finals I have seen in a long time. BOTH nitro finals won/lost on hole shots ... just WOW. Congrats are in order for Tony Schumacher, 10 Indy wins on top of the double is pretty crazy to think about. 95% of the folks that have strapped into a fuel dragster will never win 10 National Events, let alone 10 US Nationals!!! And Congrats to the Shoe and everyone at DSR for doubling up and the Traxxas Top Fuel Shootout wins.

Chris I think you're low at 95% LOL! I agree, outstanding performances and incredible racing. If you're reading this Don, also want to add a big thank you for putting on another incredible open house on Friday. Great event for a great cause, and a must attend for anyone that can make it. Can't wait for Indy 2017!

I'm not a DSR fan, but we NEED them in the sport. Realistically, where would nitro be without that team?

looking at it from another angle, just imagine if Forrest Lucas has a change of heart, all motorsports would take a huge hit

i think the story of the year in nitro racing mite turn out to be leah/dsr/john schnatter.....non-automotive sponsor now with rumors of staying involved in nhra into 2017 and hopefully longer.....pizza company not conflicting with series sponsor, in fact papa johns serves coca cola products in it's restaurants......IMO papa johns coming into nhra is kind of a really big deal......this is one sponsor i really want to see succeed with it's involvement with nhra. have watched papa johns come into an area and close as it was not the right fit for that particular community, i do not want to see that happen here.....nhra fans are certainly pizza eaters, let's fill them up at every race.

You can't blame DSR or the other big teams for how expensive it is. Well, I guess you could, but these teams have been out here for decades, how do you put a ceiling on progress? Everyone wants it to be like the '60s, where 3 buddies get together and field a fuel car. Well, that was 50 years ago. How many things today are the same economically as they were 50 years ago? The cool thing about drag racing, is even today, new teams can pop up and jump in, even with limited budgets. There were several at Indy. Try that in F1 or Indycar or NASCAR. Having said all that, the economics of drag racing surely need to be greatly improved, from cost controls to better purses, but that's up to NHRA, not the teams. Finally, I was thrilled to see Papa John's get involved and really hope they stay awhile!
