Most semi-auto pistols do not have an external safety that you flip on or off.
Glocks, and others, have a safety on the trigger that must be depressed before the trigger can be pulled.
The weapons don’t discharge just by bumping them.

He was lucky that this didn't happen in New Jersey. Out of state person carrying a gun there, There wouldn't be a good outcome let alone the injury. New Jersey is no joke about anything. When Brandon Bernstein went over the wall at Englishtown, The state police impounded his car until they did a full investigation!

I have a 9mm Beretta & a 20 guage shotgun. A store I really like is J&G Sales in Prescott, AZ, about an hour drive from me. They have a few 50 Cal handguns there. I thought, how do you shoot a 50 Cal hand gun??? The recoil would knock me down. heh

The Smith and Wesson 500 Magnum….when you need to protect yourself from the killer, hiding behind the refrigerator, in the neighbor’s house, 2 doors down……😉

I’m not a gun guy. Just curious. Are a lot of people carrying loaded guns at the track? No one I’ve ever been around did. They could have had one concealed or put away somewhere. If so I wasn’t aware. I could see back in the day but I’m almost surprised the NHRA doesn’t frown upon it today.

I’ve never felt the need to carry at a race. The race track is the one place where I didn’t mind letting my son and nephews roam the pits without my needing to keep a constant eye on them. I started taking them when they were 7 or 8 years old.
I figured if somebody started bugging them, all they would need to do is yell for help and there would be 5000 Bubbas ready to pound on whoever was bothering them.
Besides, asking who might be carrying will probably result in an answer of “not me.”
