Jock Ervin, crew chief for Steve Johnson, expected to miss rest of the season.
Keeping a loaded gun without the safety on is stupid...
He is lucky he is alive to be able to learn.Glad that he's OK. That's the most important thing. People make mistakes in this world. Who knew? I'm sure he'll learn from it.
Obviously. While bad, could've been worse. I'm sure he knows that.He is lucky he is alive to be able to learn.
The Smith and Wesson 500 Magnum….when you need to protect yourself from the killer, hiding behind the refrigerator, in the neighbor’s house, 2 doors down……I have a 9mm Beretta & a 20 guage shotgun. A store I really like is J&G Sales in Prescott, AZ, about an hour drive from me. They have a few 50 Cal handguns there. I thought, how do you shoot a 50 Cal hand gun??? The recoil would knock me down. heh

Most striker-fired pistols such as Glock do no

Yes, and I would assume they are hammer-fired pistols. Most striker-fired pistols, like Glock and many Sig Sauers, do not have an external safety. Your holster and trigger discipline is the safety.I've got two semi-automatic pistols and both of them have safeties. Wouldn't own a firearm without one.
I’ve never felt the need to carry at a race. The race track is the one place where I didn’t mind letting my son and nephews roam the pits without my needing to keep a constant eye on them. I started taking them when they were 7 or 8 years old.I’m not a gun guy. Just curious. Are a lot of people carrying loaded guns at the track? No one I’ve ever been around did. They could have had one concealed or put away somewhere. If so I wasn’t aware. I could see back in the day but I’m almost surprised the NHRA doesn’t frown upon it today.
