[coverattach=1]SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (June 1, 2010) – Nitro Jam is proud to announce a new and unique partnership with the Utah Sports Commission for the upcoming Salt Lake Nitro Jam June 18-19 at Rocky Mountain Raceways in West Valley.

After an extremely successful partnership with Feld Motorsports’ Supercross Series last month in Salt Lake City the Utah Sports Commission is pleased to be a part of the first ever Nitro Jam in the state of Utah June 18-19 at the world-renowned Rocky Mountain Raceways.

“It’s great to partner with Feld Motor Sports and Rocky Mountain Raceways on another major motorsport event that will bring an estimated $3 million in economic impact to the State of Utah and be broadcast nationally on SPEED Channel. Along with Supercross, FIM World Superbike, Utah Grand Prix, Motocross and other action sports events, Nitro Jam is another event that continues to showcase Utah as a destination for motor and action sports events and allows Utah to leverage its significant world-class venues, related infrastructure and enthusiastic fan base,” said Jeff Robbins, President & CEO of the Utah Sports Commission.

In addition to hosting some of Utah’s best racers, the international draw of the Salt Lake Nitro Jam will be evident with over 250 race teams from 14 states and three countries competing in front of a national television audience on SPEED TV.

“One of the unique aspects of the Nitro Jam series is that it draws competitors from all over the world. We will have racers from all corners of the United States as well as Canada and even as far away as Trinidad and Tobago competing in front of the incredible Utah fans,” said IHRA President Aaron Polburn. “Nitro Jam truly is an international series and we are pleased to bring that aspect to the great state of Utah for what we believe will be one of our biggest events of the year.”

Teams from all over the world will come together at Rocky Mountain Raceways to compete in one of 10 Nitro Jam classes. In addition to seven sportsman classes will be three professional classes made up of Top Fuel and Pro Fuel Dragsters and Prostalgia Nitro Funny Cars. All of the teams will be competing for prize money and a chance at a World Championship at seasons end.

In addition to the professional racing the Salt Lake Nitro Jam will also feature several crowd-pleasing exhibitions including the debut of side-by-side jet trucks, Fan Fest, fireworks and much more.

Helping maximize the value of the event for the Utah fans is the assistance of the Utah Sports Commission. The Utah Sports Commission is a not-for-profit, charitable organization created to foster national and international amateur sports competitions to be held in the state of Utah, which will enhance the quality of life of all Utah citizens and strengthen Utah's presence in the worldwide sports community.

The Salt Lake Nitro Jam is June 18-19 at Rocky Mountain Raceways. Fan Fest will kickoff the festivities each day at 5:30 p.m. followed by Nitro Jam at 7 p.m. For more information about the upcoming event logon to NitroJam.com or visit Rocky Mountain Raceways at Rocky Mountain Raceways - www.rmrracing.com for ticket information.
