IHRA Triple Crown, qualifying and ladders for Nitro Harley and Top Fuel Motorcycle.
Unfortunately, the IHRA does not post-publish all the incrementals so this is the best I can do.

Scary s**t. Just watching it looks like he was maybe having mechanical issues because he looked to remove his left hand to adjust something on the left side. His experience saved him from major injuries. He knew the best thing was to bail off the bike. Making those decisions in such a quick fashion at the speed he was going were incredible.
Edit-My initial reaction was completely wrong. His hand came off because of a bump and the wind forced him off the bike. It wasn’t his decision but it worked out well for him.

Ive watched it multiple times and a split second before he starts losing the handle you can see the throttle blip as evident by a brief header flame popping up. That appeared to toss him back enough to lose the handle on the bike and then the wind did its thing. So happy the legend walked away. #ballsofsteel

From Christine McBride: "when I talked to him on the phone while he was getting into the ambulance he told me he hit a bump on the track and the wind got up under him and pulled his hand off the he handle bar and he just couldn’t recover once that happened"

They had him in the booth also and he mentioned the bump. He said he was riding loosely and when he hit the bump, that's when he popped up and his hand came off the bar. He also mentioned that he didn't bail from the bike the wind pulled him off. One lucky, experienced guy!
