Anybody coming to Edgewater for Nitro Chaos this weekend? I am looking forward to it, will be my first non-NHRA nitro in a long time. Really excited to see Julie Nataas driving Randy Meyer’s A/Fuel Funny Car.

From the last outing, Looks like Randy is finally getting a handle on the car. First time out was a disaster but was expected with a new car and set-up. Basically the car barely made it off the starting line without blowing the tires off.

Day 2. Todd Bruce in his “No Bull” A/Fuel dragster from Canada was your “A” field winner. Levi Keenen in the “Illinois Thunder” nostalgia funny car is your “B” field winner (on a hole shot).

I spoke to the Gallegos family in their pit. They mentioned buying a former Matt Hagan car to run at Chaos events and plan to run some NHRA national events where there are low car counts. They were running the sons new nostalgia dragster he built. Nice people. Best of luck to them!

I was there for 3 days and it was a blast!! It reminded me of the old UDRA days where everyone was much more laid back and the racers actually had a lot of fun. Very family friendly and well run. The track (Edgewater Sports Park) has made massive improvements to the facility over the past 3 years and are dedicated to making it better every year.

I was there for 3 days and it was a blast!! It reminded me of the old UDRA days where everyone was much more laid back and the racers actually had a lot of fun. Very family friendly and well run. The track (Edgewater Sports Park) has made massive improvements to the facility over the past 3 years and are dedicated to making it better every year.

I haven’t been here in forever. I was very impressed with the track. Looking forward to going back!

I was there for Friday night. It was my 1st trip to Edgewater. I was impressed with the way the track was run. Friday's event was run a little late given the dew points near a river (imho). But it was nice to see management I assume trying to balance a start time that would accommodate the working families as did the concession stand pricing.

That was our car that won the B Field with my partner/stepson Levi Keenen driving. The other car kinda hung us out while we were at the line (ready to stage) for at least 15 seconds before they moved forward a car length to stage.Levi let him light his last bulb,then bumped in and deep staged (on purpose),cut a .057 light to his .165 light and we won with a 3.98/193 to his 3.93/184. Thats the whole story on the Hole Shot WIN.

The last time I was at Edgewater was in 1997 at the Div3 points meet helping Bob Gottschalk in his TAFC.
Who owns the track now. Always loved racing there except for the hot humid days. lol

Dick Weinle owned the track for 40 years but passed away a few years ago. His son's took over and have basically rebuilt the entire facility. They continue to reinvest in it every year with something new and great events like this one. If you ever get the chance drop by. They have big pro-mod events and a Night Of Fire coming up in June.
