Good move, actually instituting the policy from the begining was good too. It did clean up the amount of oil downs.

I for one think this rule should not be suspended. Bad timing if you ask me. Right when they are about to be hit with the most low buck teams and independents showing up at races to fill the fields your going to take away the main deterrent in keeping them clean?

Hope I'm wrong but I bet the oil downs increase considerably this year.

I dont understand how suspending the points penalties help the teams save money....the monetary fines were already thrown out last year

someone enlighten mme

read the small print. Basically its taking away the $$ fine but they will still monitor. If a leaker is a leaker they will still be sent away until they can prove otherwise....although with the testing rule that will be difficult.

On the other hand with the testing rule in place maybe the thought is that with the low buck teams will not push it so hard knowing they will not be able to test their way back in if they are put on time out.

More evidence.....accountants make lousy visionary leaders, visionary leaders make lousy accountants.
