Does Humpy Wheeler's daughter still own and run Wheeler Television ?
Could be another interesting twist to this story.
I never really liked the idea of NASCAR letting owners have so many teams because it kine of made it hard for the smaller teams to be competitive. Each team used to be allowed 7 test sessions a year but with owners having 3 and 4 teams they had a total of between 21 and 28 test sessions to exchange information. How could a single car team have a fair chance?
Even the N.H.R.A. fell victim to this same thinking of teams having many cars. Drag racing is similar because many start out drag racing and then you reach a certain point where unless someone dies and leaves you a small fortune there is no way of moving into the higher classes.
