Monroe Guest/Brandon Greco Crash.

You can fix race cars, you can't fix bodies. I hope both racers will be a-okay. From Alan's description it sounded like a pretty nasty accident. Both drivers are out and alert.

Was a really nasty looking wreck. Thankfully the drivers are ok. It's been a long evening here with Dennis Radford hitting the wall then Leah Pruett going into the sand (took about an hour to fix the net) then the Guest/Greco crash.

Guest's tires blew out and he was heading towards the Right side wall and Brandon's car actually saved Monroe from hitting the wall head on and both cars were kept upright, it was almost reminiscent to "The Crash" in Dallas with Koretsky/Allen

actually, it reminded me more of Stalba/Winward at Lebanon Valley a few years back.

Frame by framed the ESPN2 broadcast a few time. Wow, what would cause the tires to disintegrate like that? We used to see tires chunking and such, but it almost seemed like there was no bead reinforcement . . . he was just left with two rims. Any of the Alky guys with experience in stuff like that?

That was a terrible crash. I'm so glad they were both ok. Could have been MUCH worse.

Yes, yes it could have. Guests tire looked to split in two. I took a video directly from the rear. Was zoomed in so I kept filming. My hands were shaking for a minute or so after I stopped. I also expleted some delitives......

Well it was a relatively clean weekend with the exception of this, Leah being the lone car in the beach on Sat and Dennis Radford's wild run in the shutdown area after beating Melanie.

So 4 somewhat major incidents make it a relatiely clean weekend? Somehow my definition and yours differ.

Don't know what should be done to make it safer if possible but until something is done it needs to be closed. JMO

you have GOT to be kidding. NONE of the aforementioned incidents had anything to do with the track.....at all. I spoke to a couple drivers/crew of the involved cars. None mentioned the track to me at all.

4 MAJOR incidents? With the exception of Guest/Greco, you have GOT to be kidding Part Deux. since I was there when Scotty died, the track has been vastly improved for safety. I was there, I know. Talked to a lot of crew guys. case closed.

No complaints about track safety from this crew member. Can't we just be happy that these two guys (and all the other competitors who had accidents for that matter) walked away from a very ugly accident instead of blaming the racetrack. Hard to equate the Pro Mod crashes to the racetrack either. There is a Pro Mod crash at seemingly every event!

John, race cars have failures and crashes. Let's be thankful everyone was OK. using your logic, we better go ahead and close all the NASCAR tracks before the season goes any further. :D All kidding aside, the track had nothing to do with the weekend's incidents, that I know of at least.

Anyone know how many fatal accidents at Indianapolis Motor speedway in the 100 years they've been running? Maybe it should have been closed...then again maybe Daytona should be closed after Dale Earnhart was killed...racing is dangerous period. The drivers know this everytime they climb into the car. If you compare the number of safe runs at Englishtown to the number of crashes, it's still a pretty safe track.
