Tulsa, OK (September 27, 2007) – After battling a rained out event earlier in the month, the Miss Torco Shootout “Throw Down in T-Town” presented by Babextreme is ready to take place this weekend September 28 – 29 at Tulsa Raceway Park .
According to event promoter and Babextreme President Jason Caldwell, “The show must go on! We’re not scaling down or cutting back on any aspect of the event, in fact, the new date has allowed us to add another great act to the concert lineup. Seven Story Drop from Dallas will be sharing the Monster Energy Drink Stage with Modern Day Zero from St. Louis . For the race program, we have been fortunate to partner with OKSCA to incorporate their shootout program into the Miss Torco Shootout, adding many cars to the race and adding their notorious Diesel Truck ‘Winner Take All’ Shootout.”
“We always hate to be in a position to change the date for any reason, but in the meeting on Saturday, September 9th the consensus between our esteemed racers, sponsors, and partners it was the best decision,” Caldwell went on to say. “The safety of our racers and race fans are the top priority. I think the anticipation for the event has grown since the original date, and we’ll see racers and spectators come out in record numbers. The weather forecast is spectacular, and with the great track conditions we are going to see some record setting numbers from the pro classes. This is not going to be an event you’ll want to miss!”
With a full scale drag race featuring the best Midwest Pro Mod action, and special guest appearance of Scott Palmer with his Top Fuel Dragster, the event is sure to be a hit with race fans throughout the country.
Torco Racing Fuels President Evan Knoll commented, “We’re ready! It’s time to rock & roll in Tulsa ! The rain delay was unfortunate, but nothing stops our team. Its full speed ahead and I have no doubt the Miss Torco Shootout will prove to be a huge success, something we can build on in the years to come. We are excited to be able to give our racers, fans, and friends a night of racing and entertainment. Cutting edge performance, cutting edge promotion, that’s what Torco Racing Fuels are all about, and you’ll see that in Tulsa !”
Not only will the event feature the baddest hotrods in the Midwest but will also host one of the largest bikini and model search competitions in the area.
It’s been really crazy since we released the calendar at the NHRA O’Reilly Mid-South Nationals in Memphis two weeks ago,” said Georgia Basore, Miss Torco. “People really love the calendar, and the responses to the promotions have been overwhelming. I really have to thank Evan Knoll and Jason Caldwell for giving me this opportunity. I hope you’ll all come out to the show in Tulsa this weekend and join us for a fun night!”
“Thanks to all our great sponsors who make it possible to pull off this event,” added Caldwell . “Evan Knoll is the greatest guy in the world. He stands firmly with us on any decision, and we really couldn’t do what we do without him. I would like to thank everyone that stuck with us to get this show to completion: Torco Racing Fuels, Tulsa Raceway Park , Skull Shine, Skull Gear, Knoll-Gas Motorsports, Crown Bristow, Primeaux Kia, Monster Energy Drink, Hooters, OKSCA, A-1 Paint & Body, Bottom Dollar Trucking, Dave’s RV, FastChip, Metric Cycles, Matthews Painting, and the Gray Snail Saloon.”
