Tour Tulsa with Dale Creasy, Jr.

BEECHER, Ill. (May 22, 2007) - When defending Knoll-Gas Nitro Jam Funny Car driver Dale Creasy, Jr. rolls into Tulsa, Okla. on Thursday for the Skull Shine Sooner Nationals, it may be for the first time. He's just not sure. Creasy plans on making this trip memorable enough with a little sight seeing on his schedule.

"People tell me I was there as a kid with my dad when he raced," Dale said. "I guess when I get there and see it, maybe it will bring back some memories."

If old memories don't get jogged for the current Knoll Gas-Torco Nitro Funny Car points leader, he'll certainly have the opportunity to make new memories at the inaugural event. Creasy and his 8,000 horsepower Torco Funny Car will make an appearance in downtown Tulsa on Thursday, May 24, 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., Bartlett Square, at the corner of Main Street and 5th Street.

Thursday evening, Creasy will make his way to the Torco Appreciation Party. "Evan [Knoll] threw on one of these parties in Orlando at the PRI show and it was a huge success," Creasy said. "With the Skull Shine Sooner Nationals and all of the Torco distributors and friends in the area this will be a great chance to so say thank you to all of our customers in the Oklahoma area."

Creasy holds a slim 3 point margin over Jack Wyatt and a host of other competitors, including; Jon Capps, Terry Haddock and Bob Gilbertson who are all within striking distance for the points lead. "It's a little early in the season to worry about exactly where we are in the standings," Dale said. "But with this group, if you're not careful you could easily be on the outside, looking in, quickly."

The Knoll-Gas Nitro Jam Drag Racing Series will host its inaugural event in Tulsa, Okla., May 25 – 27. The event, the Skull Shine Sooner Nationals presented by Wolverine and Academy Sports + Outdoors, marks the first national event drag race to be hosted at Tulsa Raceway Park in the modern era.
