September 7, 2006 Elma, NY – It has been five years since Mike Janis has visited the Winner’s Circle at New England Dragway and as far as the Two Time IHRA Pro Modified World Champ is concerned that’s five years too many. “ We’ve been really up and down at this race since our win in 01’,” said Janis. “We’ve lost in every round including the finals. I think we’re slowly gaining momentum this season and this race could be a good place for our team to grab another win.”
In 2001, the year of Janis’ first World Title, Janis was the class of the field. At the then 6th Annual Amalie Motor Oil North American Nationals Janis qualified number one with a then career best 6.182-elapsed time. He also was the quickest car each round and took home his third Iron Man of that season. In 02’ Janis lost in the semi-finals, in 03’ Janis once again made it to the finals but was unable to take the win. In 04’ it was two rounds and out and in 05’ Janis failed to make it out of round one.
“I’m not sure if there is some kind of pattern to our performance at Epping but if there is I think we’re about ready for a win,” said Crew Chief Mike Janis Jr.

More Power, Less Fuel
More than 300,000 new vehicles roll off the line each year with Eaton superchargers. And at the starting line, vehicles with Eaton superchargers accelerate faster and smoother. Traditionally used in racing and performance cars, the Eaton supercharger is now being used to bring the benefits of increased torque to drivers of four- and six-cylinder vehicles while reducing fuel consumption.
The Eaton supercharger provides improved horsepower and torque at lower engine RPMs by pumping extra air into the engine in direct relationship to crankshaft speed. Drivers feel more immediate power when accelerating from a stop or passing on the highway, unlike turbochargers, which use the flow of exhaust gases to spin up to speed.
Typically used in 1.8 to 5.0 liter engines, Eaton superchargers are offered as original equipment and also have a significant presence in the automotive aftermarket.
