Man a week to go and there is still flooding everywhere! I have a feeling they will postpone, either that or we get to walk through 6-8" of Mud like we did in '08-09?

It should dry out in time, as chances of rain the next week are not significant and we're set to get pretty warm, pretty quick. As far as non-racing matters, it is absolutely devestating to see the carnage in/around SE TX!!

While the Baytown area received 6-7 inches of rain over the past week with a bit more expected early next week, that is actually not a huge amount for the coastal area. The big rains fell in the northwestern parts of the area (I had just over 15in at the gauge near my house).
Untold numbers of people are suffering through the effects of this rainfall and the following downstream runoff, and will continue to attempt recovery for quite some time.
As far as the track; IMHO it will have plenty of time to recover if the forecast is favorable. The west ends of the spectator parking area may still be a bog and the sportsman pits will probably suck in some areas, but it will be far from the worst things have been out there.
There are a lot of travel problems in the region with many bridges still closed and the river still rising from upstream runoff. I expect car counts to be affected, but racing to be good. Best of luck to all, including the racers, who were impacted by this event. I'll be out there at least Friday.
7 day rainfall map track area is the small circle:

Jeff, are you going to Houston. I should have said hello in Belle Rose but you were busy getting ready for a run.

I'm the "Jeffrey White" from Cypress, you were obviously commenting to "Jeff White" from Houston. He hasn't checked in on this thread yet, but I'm curious how things are on his end of town.

(Thinking I should go back to a screen name ;))

Thinking I should pay attention.

Houston really received a great deal of rain and is flooded all over town.

I was in Dallas last week for four day's and it rained everyday but they did not have much flooding. I was happy on Friday to be heading back to Florida.

It's sunny, hot and humid right now in Katy, I am heading to the track now. I hope today will be ok, but it might be wet later today. Tomorrow morning looks rough and hopefully it clears out by lunch time and we are good the rest of the weekend.

Not a good weekend so far for Pro Mod. One racer sent to hospital, two cars damaged (one destroyed) and we could have lost Rickie Smith's.
