Those are both National Event totals. Manzo also has over 100 Divisional wins.

And speaking of.... here's an interesting magazine article about Mr. Lucas. With suprisingly, no mention of Morgan
Super Scrapper: Forrest Lucas - Automobile Magazine
I think the focus of the article was introduce Forrest to the Automobile readership to point to the importance of the big time marketing machine at Lucas Oil and perhaps draw some attention to the science (or lack thereof based on the perspective this guy took) in their product development. Admittedly I may have over-read the authors intention, but Automobile editors have consistently used that kind of subtle point making for years. They rarely publish an article that fails to draw attention to an opposing view of sorts.
I didn't realize he had acquired MavTV, that is interesting.
If the opening setting had been a drag race, the points you wanted to see would have almost certainly been made.
I agree with you just that I felt there could have been at least more of an achievement written for all he has done for drag racing. It does not even hint toward the sport. It maybe up for debate exactly which is the truth and what may be perception, but I think he has done more for drag racing, especially the NHRA, then any other sport. The article gave you an inside look at how he is the successful business man he is and what he has done, drag racing should be mentioned alot more in depth
I suspect from the magazines point of view....who and what is drag racing? Why should we mention it when he's involved with the NFL and automotive related sports that don't have the image problem NHRA has. Most people who hear the term drag racing still think of street racers and trouble makers.
I could not agree more. Forrest Lucas has done so much for drag racing and a lot of other motorsports organizations. Then you also have all the racing teams that he helps.I don't disagree with any of you, I was just expressing my opinion on why they didn't mention drag racing. There is no question that Forrest Lucas has put his money where it helps drag racing in a major way. All fans and competitors owe him a BIG debt of gratitude. Further he is a man to be admired because of his accomplishments and the manner in which he conducts himself.
What counts toward NHRA official Wins/Finals/# 1's, ones that are made only at National Events? David Rampy has 79 Wins, were they all at National Events? Manzo has 96, same question? How is this counted?
Patrick I am guessing you are a very good book writer, because the questions you ask regarding NHRA drag racing seem to be based on someone who knows very little about the sports history.
You should have someone in your corner with the stats required. Using nitromater for answers does seem amaturish.
Sorry for the comment, but some of the questions asked have really surprised me for someone contracted to produce a book for said NHRA.
Louis Bloom, Bob Frey, Bret Kepner or Alan Rienhart should be on your speed-dial, not the public

I made a bad assumption I guess on it being an actual NHRA book, sorry for that.
But when you are not sure if Manzo's 96 wins are from both series' when in fact he has over 200 total wins between the to show me that your stats knowledge is not really that extensive. It may be good for the last decade but.........
Almost every DR aficionado who has paid attention would know that Manzo has way over 96 wins total, same goes for Rampy.
Good luck with the book, and I mean that
