Gary Scelzi in one of his Scelzi Say's stated that LOR needed an upgrade. What needs to happen for the track to be one of the premier tracks in the country.

I have been to IRP many times, Stands are Top notch! But the Restrooms, especially on the Pro pit side are an Abortion!

That's putting it nicely. The bathrooms by the starting line are a disgrace. They would be better off knocking down that building and have port a johns in its place.

Re: Lucas Oil Raeway

One thing I would like to see them do is repave the return road. There are some humdinger pot holes in it. Some parts of the pits could use some fresh asphalt too.

Have the NHRA sell it to someone who give a sh*t.

Too much history there to have to endure that place for the US Nationals.

Sell it to the Bader Family they know how to run a top notch facility!

Re: Lucas Oil Raeway

We race there and Kurt has really poured his efforts into it. I think he is making all the right moves but I would like to see return road and the pro pits repaved and a shower facility. That two seater down by the ticket booth is severely outdated!

That bridge to move from spectator side to pit side is terrible to say the least.

There is a theme with NHRA-owned facilities, and they are all outdated. Columbus is untenable, Commerce is a DUMP ... I haven't been to Gainesville in a long time but I don't remember being particularly impressed and besides the tower and suites, I don't think there much has changed there. Pomona is a glorified, over-priced parking lot. And Indy the facility holds back Indy the race from being the diamond on the schedule it should be.

However, I will fully admit that I am spoiled by having LVMS in my own backyard ... and many of the facilities we compare to the NHRA facilites are MUCH newer, and should be MUCH nicer.

I also agree that Kurt is the right guy for the job at Indy, he has the passion and the know-how to make improvements for all parties. He will make his budget work for him ... that is for sure. Hopefully Glendora gives him what he needs.

Yea that bridge was nice about 20 years ago, along with that old tower they have with window a/c units. lol

That bridge was erected in 1967. It has served its' purpose well. At my advanced age, I'd rather go over than go around.

You guys are spoilt there are countries that would dream to have some of the tracks that you guys say need improvement.

This is a valid statement ... but when I go from LVMS to Indy there is a very appreciable drop in the quality of the facility.

Again, LVMS is much newer so it should be much nicer ... but the NHRA-owned facilities do need a facelift.

I bet anyone who has been to Seattle, Atlanta or Memphis wouldnt complain for a Second about Indy!

Pomona is not owned by NHRA. It is owned by Los Angeles County Fairgrounds. I will take it over anything NHRA owns.
