The back half of this run is impressive. 2.09 to the 330 is a good number, but not “hold my beer” good. When they ran the 3.62 years ago the 330’ was 2.05. (4 hun better) So it’s that old saying, if you can get that front half to match this back half it would really be something. (Cars weigh more now, but you get the idea)
Quick math-
.708 back split from today on the record 3.623 run is 3.610
Great job to the Blake Alexander and Dejoria JCM teams for getting their cars on track. They both had to build everything from scratch pretty much and barely got things done in time to make it.

NHRA Funny Car driver Blake Alexander is eager to embark on a new racing season amid a flurry of changes this offseason. He will pull into Gainesville Raceway with familiar Pronto Auto Service colors adorning a car from a newly formed partnership with Chad Green Motorsports.
How long ago was it that Kenny B ran the first 300 in 1/4 mile? Now 302 in the 1/8th......... If drag racing was 1/8 mile, how long before they would go 310, 320?

It sure looks like Blake puts in a tremendous effort to corral enough sponsorship so he can race. Other drivers who want a seat in the fuel cars could learn from him so they could also bring money to the table and enable them to drive, or in Blake's case, field an entire Team for at least part of the season. You can't just sit around and wait for a Sponsor to call out of the blue.
Watching Alky FC qualifying, what I don't like is Costello saying "NHRA has heard you" and the sound is fixed. Then listening to announcer yap yap over near silent Alky FC's. Looks like nothing was fixed, in testing the audio was horrendous, brief poor audio @ burnout and @ the hit, barely hear the cars @ all otherwise..
Hire a damn audio engineer and let's bring NHRA into the 21st century

Sorry about your sound, mine is perfect. check your volume leveling on the tv settings.

And my hearing sucks after years of starting the race cars.

LOL! Thanks, Larry, sadly volume leveling makes announcer even louder.
On another note, did you watch the HOF broadcast when they were talking about old Drag Racers living long lives maybe due to Nitromethane and Hydrazine exposure? Big sure looked damn good and healthy

Yes I watched it. I just turned 82 drag racing made my body hurt form many broken bones, hearing loss. bad eyes from tire shake, etc. etc. but I am so glad I did all I did in drag racing. I owe everything in my life to it. Big may look good, but I stay away from mirrors LOL.

@Warren Evans
I used to run the PA for a few heavy metal/rock bands back in the day - and I can tell you that when things are going well, no new IS good new Warren!
When the audio is muffled, has feedback or poor crackling connections - the people come in droves to b!t¢|-| about it - I probably understand it better than most, and you do a fantastic job, The equipment is probably better'n ever - but nothing is ever perfect, but you do a stellar job day in and day out - whether NHRA or independent coverage I purposely seek your work out.
I can't see where things need change there... - THANK YOU for being YOU Sir!
Kind of an older thread, so hopefully nobody gets upset. lol
