(4-18-2007) LAGUNA HILLS, CA – With one of the most historic races on the IHRA schedule only a few days away, the Danny Rowe Racing team is poised and ready for action at “The Rock.”
If there’s one thing a racer can count on in Rockingham, North Carolina; it’s stiff competition as racers come out of the wood work to participate at one of drag racing’s most fabled strips. Nestled in the heart of drag racing territory, “The Rock” is known for performance. With one of the fastest tracks on the IHRA circuit at their disposal, Danny Rowe and crew chief Jimmy Rector are pumped.
“We’ve got everything that it takes to win races,” explained Danny. “With Jimmy turning the wrenches and providing the horsepower, I think we’re poised for a big weekend. It’s time, we’ve been working hard going rounds and doing the things we need to do. Like I said before the season started, it’s going to take a total package this year. I’m confident that we have one and it might just be our time in Rockingham.”
With a runner-up finish at the IHRA Texas Nationals in San Antonio already under his belt in the team’s first outing of 2007, Round 2 of the IHRA season should be business as usual for Danny Rowe Racing.
Despite a tremendous amount of momentum coming into this race, Rowe and his team know that they will have their hands full this weekend.
“We’re racing against the absolute best in the business. There’s no way around it,” said Rowe. “Everyone on our team knows that it’s going to take a consistently fast car and utmost perfection to go the distance. There aren’t any one-hit wonders in Pro Modified anymore; it’s a very tight and competitive field. We’ll have this Gainsborough Capital ’63 Corvette ready come Friday though. You can count on that.”
