They were running the full quarter too. Went as quick as 4.527 and a couple of them were well above 330MPH, Damien Harris went 336.99.

E-Town had more people there this weekend than I have seen in probably at least 5 years. I have been sitting in Section 1 for years and we were packed in on Saturday and Sunday like we haven't been in years. The last few years we had no one within 20 seats and 2 rows of us. Surely not going against NASCAR in Pocono or Dover helped out the attendance.

Looked like a strong crowd on TV, but like I've posted before, the trend seems that the crowd thins quite a bit on Sunday at most events, this weekend included. I think that may be a sign of the times, I think people these days are in a hurry for everything, including beating the traffic to head home or to whatever is next.

My solution to beating traffic is to stay another 45 minutes or so past the end of the race and wander the pits, talking to the crews now that they're more relaxed and don't face the pressure of the day.

That is exactly what I do. You don't have to fight the crowds at the pits, and one time I watched as the John Force crew completely stripped his car right down to the bare frame. Everything came off. I asked why, they said the chassis was being retired, and they thought they'd get a head start on the process and avoid traffic at the same time.

I remember one year in Houston I stayed and there was Connie and Doug just standing out there with no one around . Had a great conversation and got to tell Connie how much I liked all his cars and his passion for the sport .
At Dallas " Big " was there got to talk to one of the most knowledgeable people in the sport .
I don't even try to take up their time because I know they are busy but there is that special time when it falls together .
In the Sportsman pits you can get all the conversation you want . LOL
