KENNY BERNSTEIN REMAINS OPTIMISTIC DESPITE STRUGGLES AT OLD BRIDGE TOWNSHIP RACEWAY PARK

ENGLISHTOWN, N.J. (June 23) -- Owner and driver Kenny Bernstein remains confident in the Monster Energy/Lucas Oil Funny Car team despite failing to qualify at the ProCare RX Supernationals.

Crew Chief, Jimmy Walsh and the entire team have been working diligently around the clock. A faulty engine burst panel played havoc with the team and tricky track conditions left them outside the top 16 at the end of time trials on Saturday.

“It seems for every bit of progress we make the next weekend we end up taking two steps back. I am confident in Jimmy and our entire team and know we can get this season turned around.” “We are all very upset and it’s been tough but it’s not for a lack of effort or funding,” said an optimistic Bernstein.

“We are genuinely disappointed for our fans and sponsors, but we’re on a six-in-a-row string of races, so we’ll give it all we’ve got at Norwalk , Ohio next weekend.”

Bernstein is 17th in NHRA Funny Car standings, 112 points out of the countdown to eight.
