Tindle-Ashley Racing Enterprises' driver Joey Martin is currently qualified No.5 for this weekend's Las Vegas Nationals. With two qualifying sessions completed, Martin and the crew did their best to perform in the top half of the field, posting the second quickest and fastest quarter-mile lap of the first session; 6.17, 232.
Martin's second pass of two this weekend resulted in a 13.64, 86.59 pass after the tires shook hard at the launch. When the session was complete, the team dropped from No.2 to No.5 on the ladder. Tomorrow, Martin will have one last attempt to improve his position going into first round.
"We were a little disappointed with the last pass but it is better that it happened during qualifying than on race day. The car hazed the tires during the first pass and still managed to run a 6.17, 232. Like always, Chuck Ford and the crew will come through tomorrow," said Joey Martin.
