Joey Martin’s Hot Streak Continues at Indy: T.A.R.E. Heads to 4th Straight Final

”6.06, 234.00 MPH? WOW,” were the words of Torco Race Fuel’s Joey Martin after defeating the AMS Promod Challenge Points leader Jay Payne, in the semi finals. Martin accomplished two of his wildest dreams during that one round at Indianapolis Raceway Park ; running his quickest career elapsed time and mph for the team and reaching his fourth straight final round.

“What can I say, that speaks for itself. Chuck Ford and the boys (Skippy, Porkchop, and Buak) continue to deliver. That was a big round and we needed it,” said Joey Martin who continues to deliver consistency behind the wheel.

Martin said “The game plan is to hit the ground running in the finals tomorrow and then focus on winning the Big-One; Indy.” Twenty four points is the magic number that separates Martin from the number one spot.

”It’s all good. We had to tip toe down there and win the round,” stated Chuck Ford. The pass was also his quickest elapsed time and mph.

Team T.A.R.E. (Tindle-Ashley Racing Enterprises) will battle Shelly Payne in the final round of the Memphis make-up race tomorrow. Martin’s 6.06, 234 will give the team lane choice over Shelly’s 6.159, 234.82.

Martin currently stands in the number 4 position after three qualifying rounds at the U.S. Nationals, stopping the traps with the following elapsed times: 6.106, 6.082, 6.066.
