Well wishes for a quickie recovery. One of the good guys, and a good reason to keep watching funny car. Straight talking, no nonsense. Wry smile. Get after it Big Jim.
My dad had (what sounds like ) a very similar form of cancer in his mid 70's. They cutout the bad stuff, put in a hunk of PVC piping<G> and the tough old bird was good for another nearly 20 years.
I remember, he bitched about doing a short course of Chemo (said it hurt his appetite) while scarfing a second course of hush puppies at Long John Silver's..
Hope all goes well for Big Jim. Still amazes me how he has stayed out there, full time, year after year. If I was King of the NHRA, I'd send a get well card with $30k, the equivalent of qualifying $ for the 3 events he'll miss, and saying "thanks for 50 years of support, hurry back!"
