Holley, New York (June 4, 2008) - Randy Jewell and the JFM Racing team are excited about the upcoming First Annual PMRA Challenge presented by Vito Antonicelli Race Cars event this weekend at their home track, New York International Raceway Park.
“When we were away winning two championships with the NSCA we never got to really race at home in front of our family and friends,” Jewell explained. “Now that we are running the PMRA (Pro Modified Racing Association) we finally get to run at our home track, and it’s only half an hour down the road from the RJ ProFab race shop.”
“Our first outing at the cancelled Toronto event gave us a lot of encouragement,” he went on to say. “I am pretty confident we could have maintained our third spot and may even have been able to go quicker. Things should go well for us this weekend. It will also allow some of our marketing partners come out and see what we do. The PMRA is a truly professional series and I am sure they will be impressed.”
Crew chief Gary Falco can hardly wait to get back to the track, he had this to say about the upcoming event. “The two runs at Toronto told me the changes we made over the winter are working. The Bear’s Performance anti-roll bar we fitted for an upcoming article in RPM Magazine worked a treat, the new billet Precision turbos and Profiler heads have upped our power level, and Randy is really coming to grips with the Bruno / Lenco. It all bodes well for a good weekend at NYIRP.”
“People had said we would struggle at the eighth mile events but I think our 4.19 at TMP showed we can challenge in the eighth,” Falco continued. “When you consider Randy was out of it for nine tenths of a second on that pass it can only get better as we learn what the car likes, with all the changes we have made. We are still on a learning curve with this car, just wait until we have it figured out.”
JFM Racing will be unveiling their new T-Shirt design at the event and will have all sizes available for sale, including some specifically for women. Shirts can also be purchased over the Internet by going to the team’s website, RJ ProFab - The Only Limiting Factor Is Your Imagination!
The team will also have some copies of the best doorslammer magazine out there, RPM Magazine. Make sure you watch out for article featuring the team and their quest for a PMRA championship.
Support for the JFM Racing team comes from RJ ProFab, R&L Auto, HeadsUpRacer.com, RPM Magazine, Akers Trucking, Competition Transmission & Converters, 5 Star Metal Fabrication, Ross Pistons, Leaf Racewear and Racepak. The team is currently in negotiation with other marketing partners and hopes to make some announcements in the near future.
