Jeg Coughlin on the cover of National Dragster (1 Viewer)

[coverattach=1]For drag racers, nothing is quite as exciting as being on the cover of National DRAGSTER magazine, the house publication of the National Hot Rod Association that is celebrating its 50th year of production in 2009.

Just two races into the season, back-to-back Pro Stock champion Jeg Coughlin Jr. and a few members of his hard-working crew got the cover all to themselves, with Coughlin in his usual post-victory spot on the roof of his JEGS.com Chevrolet Cobalt. The honor of the cover shot was earned by Coughlin and the Victor Cagnazzi Racing team after they managed to score a big win Feb. 22 at the 25th annual Lucas Oil Slick Mist NHRA Nationals at Firebird International Raceway.

"When you grow up in a drag racing family, as my brothers and I did, you couldn't wait to get National DRAGSTER in the mail every week to see how all your heroes did around the country," Coughlin said. "You never even dream big enough to think about being on the cover and although we've been so honored several times now it's still a really neat deal. You definitely get them framed and put them in a place of honor in your house and race shop, that's for sure."
