This has to be a first on national TV.....oh wait, there was this Mopar car once...................
other boards suggested something funny was going on but do you think JEGS would risk it all??? I doubt it.

at first i would agree that JEGS is a major name and wouldn't want to tarnish that name, but how big is the name MOPAR? . . .i'm not saying anything about jegs, but i sure would like to know how a carburated motor blew a hood scoop off . did the motor drop a valve or something along the lines of valvetrain failure?

huh? On a naturally asperated engine? One cylinder was no longer able to seal enough to draw air/fuel in it -so the other 7 now can draw more?

I have been trying to tell you guys forever. Everybody wants to drive a Nitro car. Now even the Pro-Stock guys are using "Nitro Speak" to try to explain motor carnage.
He was struggling a bit with the lingo, what he meant was more like:
"Well the old heap was a trucking on down thru there, and she up and dropped a hole. That pissed the other 7-soldiers off, and due to the fuel volume we are trying to run she tried talking to us in the only language she knew and tossed parts at me.
We will fix her right up and be ready for next round, don't worry about us." Rapid

I was at the top end by the finish line watching the race when it blew. Made one helluva pop. I saw the NHRA tech guys going over the car in the pits and overheard Jeggie's explanation. Several onlookers/conspiracy theorists were expressing their opinions. The team sure didn't look too nervous while the car was given the inspection.

it amazes me the conspiracy theorys that come up.
you are dumping large amounts of gasoline into a motor and an intake spring breaks so the valve sticks open
well when that broken cylinder fires I assume ALL the fuel in the manifold will ignite and pop goes the hood scoop
