huh? On a naturally asperated engine? One cylinder was no longer able to seal enough to draw air/fuel in it -so the other 7 now can draw more?

you are dumping large amounts of gasoline into a motor and an intake spring breaks so the valve sticks open
well when that broken cylinder fires I assume ALL the fuel in the manifold will ignite and pop goes the hood scoop
