Jay Turner Just put on a clinic all weekend in TF Harley, 5 passes under 6.36, his teammate ran 239! Wish they were at more races...

I've seen TFH at both races so far this year, and Pomona was disappointing with very few runs not being aborted. MUCH better racing at Phoenix, and some great ETs & speeds!!!

Lots of great venues to catch them Joe ... depending on your plans. Including various LODRS events around the country. The best part of HD at the LODRS events is that you get to see a few different classes of HD drag racing including 2 Nitro powered classes, TF and Pro Fuel (about 1 second slower).

Problem is I don't know if Jay's team will be making all of those events. He certainly is the star of the show.

Jay and his team definitely dominated this weekend. He has a contract with IHRA to run all of their races, so he can only race NHRA when schedules don't conflict. We all want to run that fast, but it's not easy or cheap. Our purse is a joke and exposure for sponsors is very limited.

Former Champ Doug Vancil is from ABQ, and won 2 IHRA championships back to back. Back then they had 18-20 bikes at every race!

Jay Turner on "the long bike that will never work" ran a string of great numbers.

Back when the Nitro Twins were packed it was the Company's money (HD) in IHRA TFH. McClure,Price, Romine, Turner, Chicago Joe and all were still racing then.
The AHDRA always managed to put on a good show with full fields in 3 NITRO classes.
When IHRA dropped them and Craig couldn't afford AHDRA out of his pocket (several rainouts in a single year) anymore they stayed home.
Then at least back East Marty was and is running AMRA with a limited schedule.

Tommy doesn't have a bike. He lost his ride due to the death of his team owner Ray Price. He was riding a bike owned by Mike Bahnmaier at Phoenix. Jay wasn't riding the "long bike" at Phoenix he was on a new bike with an Orangeburg Cycle frame by Bill Furr.

Thanks Julian, I though Tommy kept his bike he had before he got hooked up with Ray.
What happened to the Wills built bike? I saw his was listed as a Dixie.
