Janis Fights His Way Into Torco Race Fuels CompetitionPlus.com Pro Modified Shoot Out
Lancaster, NY, – Heading into the Mopar Canadian Nationals presented by Castrol, Lancaster, NY's, Mike Janis was in the ninth position for the eight car field of the Torco Race Fuels CompetitionPlus.com Pro Modified Shoot Out.
With one qualifying attempt left in which to earn points, the Eaton sponsored, Janis was solidly focused on the shoot out. 'We we knew it was close. We couldn't worry about the other guys trying to knock us out we had to focus on our game. My guys really wanted to get in so we threw everything at her and I guess it did the job," said Janis.
On his final attempt Janis squared off with Ed Hoover (who also vying for a spot in the shoot out). The two put on an old fashion side by side drag race with Janis edging out Hoover by thirty one hundredths of a second. Janis' 6.038 run moved him into the number six position for Shoot Out.
The Torco Race Fuels CompetitionPlus.com Pro Modified Show Out will be contested in Martin, MI, during Saturday's qualifying for the Torco Race Fuels Northern Nationals. The winner will receive $20,000; the runner-up will earn $9,000. The semi-finalists will pocket $2,500 and the quarter-finalists net $1,500.
