I particularly dig seeing the stickshift car at #3.

So the moral of the story is buy a 100K Mustang from Ford and you too can be a player in Super Stock. Seems economically viable to me LOL.

Last year at Indy I saw about a Dozen of those New Mustangs!

Actually, 100K for any of the new factory drag cars isn't really a bad deal, when you consider the cost of building a car from the ground up.

I think its swell there's new cars worthy of being made into S/S cars. They stopped making '69 Camaros a while ago-and '63 Max Wedges even before that.

I think it's cool to see the big 3 offer up factory built race cars again. The cars are expensive, but then again it's not cheap to go racing either. Is that really a Fox bodied 'Stang in the #3 spot, or a typo?

I'm just glad that some of the Cobra Jets are being raced and not wrapped in bubble wrap as a "collector's item"

Hey Alan, when you're at Indy this year, check out my buddies, Chuck and Steve Comella, they run a SS/AH '68 Hemi Dart in the Shootout. Chuck bought the car new here in Upstate NY back in '68, and I believe the window sticker is still in it!

Well we got 40 years to practice our old timer speeches. " 2013 Mustangs? I remember when they came out new-you could get one for only $100 large." ;)

They had the repaired car at the Valley this past weekend, and it looked great!

Even though I've always been an "Oldsmobile" kind of guy, it's a good thing that the manufacturers see value in producing one-off vehicles dedicated to our sport.

I'm in industrial manufacturing (Mechanical Designer by trade.) and I'm here to tell you that it probably took a goodly amount of arm twisting and discussion for the program managers to justify the very existence of these cars to upper level management.

I'm happy that those upper level people see the value of the investment in the sport, along with their other racing programs.
