International Top Fuel, Top Alcohol And Oh Yeah - A Massive Field Of Pro Stock This Saturday And Sunday!

(Sydney, NSW) In addition to the power and fury of TEN Top Fuel cars and a double-digit entry list of Top Alcohol entrants as well, one could easily overlook the fact there is also an awesome 11-car entry list for Pro Stock this Saturday and Sunday at Western Sydney International Dragway - but you definitely should NOT overlook it!

One team that's so committed to the ANDRA Pro Stock Championship cause is Queenslander Scott Porter and his Porter's Can Do team, making a solid 3,600km round trip from their base in Mackay to contest the action this weekend.

Such is the enthusiasm of the team, team principal Paul Porter and his son Scott have forgone their own business work function to participate.

"Yeah, that's right, we have forgone the Porters Can Do Christmas Party with 280 of our employees wining and dining to go pro Stock Racing," grinned Paul on the team's commitments coming up.

"We can't miss an ANDRA Pro Stock round and its great such a tough entry list has entered the event too."

The Porters Can Do Ford Mustang has certainly impressed all observers so far this ANDRA Championship season.

"We are very happy with the car, we are still rookies really - Scott only got his license at the Tin Tops Event last year and everything has gone according to plan. I will say this though, Scott is raring to go for Sydney this weekend, he has been working the Porta Tree in the garage for hours and hours in recent times in trying to improve his reaction times and try and have something for the Tremayne boys who have been on fire so far this season!"

As to the Western Sydney venue, Paul Porter is more than complimentary...

"We really enjoyed the racing at WSID, the track conditions were very good and I think the whole Pro Stock bracket put on a good show for the crowds there. Pro Stock is such an exciting category to be in at the moment, we wanted to do it for a couple of years now and the level of competition you will see in Sydney this weekend is exactly why we love it."

The Porter team certainly display a strong 'Can Do' attitude, after hitting their marks with a 7.25 second pass at almost 189 miles per hour at their last Sydney Pro Stock sojourn. Paul believes it has been the help of fellow North Queensland competitor John Barbagallo that has been the key.

"John Barbagallo has been excellent, we have all become very close friends through all this for sure. He has been a great help and the fact we run similar engines and we even share data has proven an awesome addition to our efforts in Pro Stock. We would hate to lose him being around our team that's for sure. He is a big reason why we have come out so strongly in our rookie season."

Heads-up Professional Drag Racing, with 5-speed gearboxes, all done and run in around 7-seconds - you don't want to miss the Pro Stock action this Saturday and Sunday!
