What if we lowered the number of events that Pro Stock attends? The cost of them to race now is through the roof and they can't get the funds to keep it rolling. Maybe take them away from the double events (Vegas. ZMax, Pomona) Only do 1 of the Texas races, maybe drop one more. Along with PM and PSM that would make 3 part time pro classes. NHRA can make sure at least 1, if not 2 of them are at every race. It might make the teams able to stretch their cash a little further.

I am pretty sure this is what they do in Australia. Some races are Pro Stock and alcohol, other races are Top Doorslammer (Pro Mod) and Top Fuel, some races are Pro Stock and Top Fuel ...etc. I think they only have 2 races per year where all categories run at the same event. But all pro categories wind up running the same total number of events.

I would rather there be some implement to save teams money or generate them more income, rather than start dropping race dates for certain categories. Though I do agree the total number of national events needs to be cut back to 20 max ... Then work from there.

Lets see now,.....24 Natls. divided by 3 classes = 8 races for each class. Let all three race INDY cause you have the extra day, and it's central location.
Lower cost, less travel, cheaper for sponsors.......could even rotate the events from year to year.......just thinkin out loud......o_O

(PJ) I think you may be on to something.......

Just out of curiousity, what Lucas products do you buy that costs you $2,500 per truck, per year?

truck oil @ $22 a gallon @ 10 gallon per change , oil treatment, fuel additive@ $24, plus racing oil I have always supported the vendors that supported the alky cars
and NHRA at some point, we change truck oil every 10 - 12k miles which is normally 9 times per year, additive treats 250 gallons we use 600 gal a week average which is 2 gallons a week @ $22.00 it don't take long for this stuff to add up
