This short lived class was really cool in my view but never really took off. Another class that was rather unique and for the most part only ran at Lions Drag Strip.
There were 2 classes, Injected Senior Gas Dragster was for Dragsters that had engines larger than 351 cubic inches. Most of the time it was just a 4-car qualified field. Normally there would be maybe 6 to 8, 10 on good night. There would be 2 or 3 qualifying rounds then obviously 2 rounds of eliminations.
The payout, remember this was late 68 and 69, was $50.00-to-win, $30.00 Runner-up, $15.00 first round losers. The cars were ultra easy on parts and super economical to run.
Injected Junior Gas Dragster was for Dragsters that had engines 350 cubic inches or less, once again a 4-car field with the exact same payout as the Senior class. They would put on a nice competitive show as some would opine as a 'filler' class.
