Indicom Electric/Nitro Fish Chevy Runs 6.690 Seconds

POMONA, Calif., Nov. 3, 2007 -- Kenny Koretsky shook his head Saturday upon learning he wound up 17th for Sunday's Auto Club Finals at Pomona, Calif.

"I can't begin to tell you how glad I am that the season is over," he said. "I need a break. We will take about a two week break and then go testing somewhere."

Koretsky's quickest run (6.690 seconds at 206.23 mph) came in Saturday's first run. But by the time the last attempt rolled around, the hot sun had beaten on the track all day and times were slower and 16th place went to Mike Edwards' 6.687 seconds.

"We talked earlier in the day about it being a dogfight to make the top 16," said crew chief Eddie Guarnaccia. "It was a familiar feeling and a position we didn't want to be in. Unfortunately, we were a little on the weak side with the motors. I thought we did a good job with the car and Kenny did a good job driving.

"We didn't want to end it like this but we did the best we could. We can't fault anybody for effort."

The next race, the 2008 Winternationals, is scheduled at Pomona, Feb. 7-10.
