IHRA just bought . (11 Viewers)

So, can someone please explain to me what this purchase accomplishes besides giving Hawley a path to a retirement plan? Seriously? Are the costs of attending the school going to decrease?

Also, Is Cuttel now going to attempt to purchase Gainesville, or make him move the School to one of the current IHRA tracks?

I had originally posted this on the NHRA SIDE,
BUT it got moved. I guess nobody running NHRA has never gone to Frank's school.
You know sometimes things are just Black and White.

He can make sure Hawley's drag racing school runs only at IHRA tracks. That way, he can charge people to attend the school, then transfer the money to an IHRA track.

I’m not sure who moved it, but to be honest, this has more to do with the IHRA than the NHRA. So this is the correct place to put it.

Maybe Mr. Hawley wants to get back behind the wheel again, LOL.

I'd say it was time to retire but we'll soon find out. If so, good for him!

I have to disagree, yes IHRA bought it and it now has control of the school. But I'll bet 50% of the drivers in the last 20 years in NHRA pro class have attended. Therefore I say it should be in both threads. Some people just don't recognize the I sanction body and won't look on the site. Just my opinion.

He's over 70 years old and has been running the school for 40 years. Would you rather he just close up shop and not reap the fruits of his labor?
Not at all, I'm happy for Hawley, and happy to see that the school will continue. But none of that was conveyed in the Press Release, just that this is Grand Slam for the IHRA!

Another forum I am on has "cross posting function" a thread like this would be posted there and appear in both NHRA, IHRA sections. Maybe it could be suggested here too..........
