My X sister in law, maiden name Gibson, married a man named Gibson. Made things easy for everyone. Better than one of our still-talked-about local marriages which involved a woman named Smelley and her husband named Beavers. True story, not fake news. Ok, back to Hight.

It's all good. Things change; people come and go. Everyone wondered if JFR would crumble when Coil left but obviously others stepped up and it did just fine. Any business that depends on one person to keep it viable is treading on thin ice in the first place amd JFR wasn't one of those. I once lost one of my 'irreplaceable' employees but I simply moved the next person in line to that position and we rocked on with no problems.

Sometimes medical issues give you pause, to reevaluate your life and family. Robert's position meant a lot of time away from home while being on the road. When my wife was diagnosed with terminal cancer I told her I regretted every second I spent on the road away from her while racing. She told me she knew it going in when she married me, and that I should have no regrets. My time away was miniscule compared to the life Robert has had. I'm guessing he's made the right decision for him and his family, with full support from John.

Maybe just maybe Robert did have a medical issue, and having to sit out for a time he realized what life away from the track was like and he enjoyed it. making his decision much easier.
On the other side of the coin, Could the medical issue been his wife's and that's why he decided to spend time with her.

You mean, like he said (except for the wife medical issue part)???? Unfathomable....

Robert had been a world class skeet shooter so seeing him taking a offer to have a full time business in that sport is not a stretch. With a new family that could work out best for all of them.
