That car seemed never to be able to run over 300 and under 4.0. Now they are frequently over 300 and running right around 4.0. What happened? It is great to see!
Dunn is my hero. How does he land all those sponsors, although maybe short term or smaller. He doesn’t have the persona of a marketing guy.
I've read that Jon brings all those smaller sponsors. Some are B to B, others may be offered through a marketing company. Its easy to sell a 30K+ per race deal to a sponsor for 1 race than 1m+ for the season. Lots of wrap companies on standby LOL!He doesn't. I recall reading over the years that Dunn's son, Jon, is the one who works to get these small short-term sponsorships. Not sure how Jon does it as I've never seen an article about him that went into any specifics. But they seem to get just enough support (plus with the funding the driver brings to the table) to keep the team out there every year.

As mentioned, I also recall that Campbell brings 3-400K/yr to the table or at least used to
Im sure campbell gets a salary too. So he prob gets some of that money back?I think some of those one-race Associate sponsor are for even smaller amounts like $5,000.00 to $10,000.00. Those would be easier to sell and they all help to pay expenses for a low-budget team and keep them out there.
That is very interesting if Campbell really brings that much money per year. I would think it would be less than half that, but only a few know for sure.

It was on the old Comp * years ago that they work with NHRA and get leads to people who want to be involved but don't have a big budget and yes it is Jon who does the Marketing. You follow up on people (companies) who may want to advertise or even bring clients or associates to a few regional races you can get what it takes to get going. By the way Jim works out of the old Kieth Black shop in the L.A. area. He is very sharp - just isn't a Mega bucks guy.Dunn is my hero. Jim no longer works out of the KB shop. He moved to a whole new shop a couple of years ago. It's a building that is all their's.
