Yes, that rumor was 100% pure fabrication, that was never going to happen and wasn't even a possibility. As a matter of fact, it was never even discussed.

I wondered if it was true since the Napp family seems like they have already signed an agreement to lease the land for a number of years to someone else.

If you look at the other thread there is a story about Drag Racing potentially returning to E-Town but it has nothing to do with NHRA buying the track.
