Justin,

$20K in chip with 20 minutes blinds starting at $50/$100? That's going to take forever. I'd start with $10K and 15 minute blinds.

I won the No-Limit Hold-em tournament on the cruise Didi and I took in April. At the final table, everyone was starting with between $7600 and $9100 in chips with the blinds already at $1000/$2000. I annihilated the field in record time and it still took nearly two hours.

Glenn, wish you were going to be here. Its going to be a good tourney.

Greg, we normally do start with $10k in chips but I have been asked to do this by a few people and I talked to 2 guys who have ran this and they told me that with 18 people the other day it only lasted 2 hrs and 45 mins. He said it normally works the exact opposite than what you'd think. You would think it would be slow but both of them said that since people had alot of chips there were alot of big pots in the first hour and half the field was gone.

I dont know, but we will see. This will be my first $20k tournament that I run so I will let you guys know how it goes. I have played 3 of them similar to this this year and won 2 and split 1st the 3rd time so we will see. Every time we have had between 9 to 13 people and the longest one took 3 1/2 hrs. Thats why we are starting at 2. We will then have smaller tourneys, sng's or cash game afterwards for those that stay. I am going to try and start doing this once a month atleast.

Congrats on the cruise win, I wish the cruise I am going on to Alaska next month had hold'em but they dont. Oh well. If you like poker cruises, check out my friend John Smiley's site, Player's Cruise - Caribbean Poker Vacations and tell him I sent you if you talk to him or book one. They have some really good ones out of Galveston and Miami. I havent been yet b/c my wife wont let me talk her into it but I have talked to several who have and they have all had wonderful times.

I played my first Stud Hi/Lo 8 or better the other night and finished 7th out of 1414 so I was excited. Omaha Hi/Lo is my best game so I figured I would try the stud part. Now if I can just get Omaha game down, I will be ok. I do really good at Omaha Hi/Lo but for some reason just regular Omaha kicks my butt.

For anybody else, one of my really good friends Jim Peck (professional dealer) is dealing at the Rio this year during the WSOP right now and he has a blog. Its pretty cool if yall want to check it out:
Pinche Rio!
