Thanks Larry, I saw this the other day. Very cool! Makes me want to go for a drive in the mountains today. :D If I do, I'll behave though and obey the speed limits.......

Mr. Jean,

I thought the SL running south outta Reno was 395...

think about it

d'kid

:D Yup, 395 indeed. :p I like the Mt. Rose to Tahoe run, The curves, twisty's and cliffs help me to behave. I think I do recall a few places out here, where I could let it breath / hunt. ;)

If my eyes are not deceiving me the beast comes with a huge dry sump V 8 7.7 L supercharged W 638 HP .

Don't know if that is RW HP or Flywheel but who cares .

That thing went from 68 mph to 178 mph in a blink, which is what I hope the cops do when I get mine. LOL
No as much as I like fast cars the last ticket I got for speeding was in Mississippi HWY 61 south of Natchez near the end of a drive from Fort Smith Ark. to Baton Rouge La about 12 years ago.

I tried to drive the speed limit and cars were lined up behind me trying to pass and endangering me and oncoming traffic.
To keep so many from passing I speeded up to 65 and they were still passing me when with a line still behind me we met a cop and guess who got the ticket.
I was driving the Pilots Red Custom Chevy Truck .
Yep ticket getting bright Red at that.

Let's see the base price for a 510 HP 2007 Corvette With the 428 CI engine is 72,000 loaded 77,000 I bet this beast will still be under a 100 grand and will take some sway to get one.
With Congress raising Cafe mileage I doubt they can build very many.
Well if they go out they will certainly go out in style!
Gotta start right now saving aluminum cans so I can get one.
A write up in Road and Track was not so kind to the 2007 510 HP version but then at the end of the article they said the alignment was out on it bad and the runflats were out of round and had to be replaced.
Some one should have made sure the one tested was at least fresh.
Greatest American Sports Car for the price Barr none.

Just driving our C6s is all I could ever want in traffic. I absolutely can't believe how quickly these things respond when kicked. I haven't driven this lightly and my average MPG is still well over 27. I've owned Corvettes before but this thing has been breathtaking and I can't imagine what driving one of those ZR1s. I do know that it's for someone else having brass to fill a wheelbarrow, not me.

Don't think I could fill that wheelbarrow Bobbie, but I'd still love to take that baby for some laps. Just watching the video, I found myself grinning ear to ear. Probably a good thing I can't afford one too. ;)

Guess I'll just have to settle for 150 mph and auto-cross fun, in my old age. Time for us to let the pups hunt, huh Bobbie?:D

I sure enjoy both of mine the stock one and the Hot Rod and plan to extend that to a few hot laps staying ahead of my cousins new 2008 Shelby GT 500 Mustang another beast of a car.

Cars off the showroom floor you couldn't have dreamed of when we were young.
Go like Hell's and stop to boot. A/C and stereo too.
$117,000 still a hell's of a deal.
And as a concession to us oldies they tune with a lap top !
